Certificate of Analysis
With non existent regulations in US for Extra Virgin Olive Oil {EVOO}, the market is flooded with counterfeit and rancid products. The only way to know that an olive oil is Extra Virgin is by a lab analysis which will deliver a Certificate of Analysis (COA). This is mandatory step in Europe before selling any EVOO, but unfortunately not here in the US.
All our Chateau de Luz Extra Virgin Olive Oils are been tested by a third party Lab accredited by the IOC (International Olive Council} to establish its chemical profile, determine its authenticity. To help you navigate the olive oil universe, we have compiled some key elements here to understand what is required for an olive oil to be labelled as Extra Virgin.
